Wildlife Law CLE: Inaugural Summer Series

SCI invites attorneys and other interested professionals to attend SCI’s Wildlife Law CLE: Inaugural Summer Series course, a FREE two-hour program covering timely issues in wildlife and conservation law.  The CLE will be held Monday, July 20, from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM ET at the Hunters’ Embassy in Washington, DC and via Zoom.

The course will feature presentations from experienced leaders and practitioners in the field, including:

  • Aurelia Skipwith Giacometto, former Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service;
  • Margaret Everson, Executive Director for Oak Grove Initiative;
  • Regina Lennox and Madeline Demaske, SCI’s Legal Advocacy Team; and
  • Keely Hopkins, SCI Western State and Local Liaison.

Topics include an overview of conservation and wildlife laws, the origins of the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation, hot topics with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, and wild horse management throughout the West.  Attorneys interested in wildlife, conservation, natural resources, public lands, or administrative law are encouraged to attend.

The CLE will be accredited in Virgina, Wyoming, and Colorado.  SCI will apply for accreditation in additional states for in-person attendees.  Virtual attendees will receive a certificate of attendance and should seek accreditation as appropriate.
